ULTIMATE HOT CHOCOLATE
This recipe from Louise Lennox is gorgeously decadent and perfect for cooler days.
"I love chocolate, and for me this is a liquid dessert in a cup. I eat it with a stack of homemade cookies to dunk into it," she says.
WHAT YOU NEED
75g 70 per cent dark chocolate 4 teaspoons hot water 125g milk chocolate 200ml single cream 100ml double cream 1 chocolate chip cookie
WHAT YOU DO
Step 1. To make the chocolate sauce, chop up the dark chocolate and add the hot water. Stir until melted. Leave to cool. Step 2. Roughly chop 100g milk chocolate, place into a saucepan. Pour in the single cream and gently warm. Step 3. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together 50g of dark chocolate sauce and double cream until thick. Step 4. Smear a little chocolate sauce around the rim of the mug. Grate the remaining milk chocolate and dip the mug into it. Pour the warm chocolate into it. Then top with the chocolate cream. Drizzle with the chocolate sauce and crumble cookies on top.
TIP: This is very sweet, so you could use cream without the chocolate added if preferred.
